Newport Tender Steps

In-person · Newport

*New venue from 7th July 2026* Group will run fortnightly on Tuesdays, 1pm – 2pm This group is for parents during the antenatal period. What inspired you to start your group? We are part of the antenatal team in Newport south and from supporting parents during pregnancy we have seen a massive need for a group like this. From a personal perspective, I myself suffered anxiety during pregnancy following a previous loss and didn’t have anywhere to turn for support. a group like this would of been such a massive help to me that it inspires me to help anyone who may be experiencing similar feelings to what I did. What does the building look like? How will I know I’m in the right place? The building is central to the city centre. there are public parking spaces right next to the venue in Kingsway car park and Friars Walk car park. The building is used as a theatre in the evenings but also holds groups through the day on weekdays. When attending the group, either myself or Kate will meet you at the entrance and welcome you. Is there parking or public transport nearby? Kingsway public car park, Friars Walk public car park, and the bus station is a 2 minute walk. Any doors, buzzers or steps/ramps I should know about? The entrance is at street level and we will be at the door to greet you. There is a lift in the building to take to the area the group will be held or there are stairs if you prefer. The group will beheld on the 2nd floor. I feel a bit nervous and am still not sure if this is for me – its normal to feel nervous about coming to a group. We are happy to chat via text or on the phone prior to you coming along. A non pressured environment, try us for one sessions.

PANADS Lanarkshire

In-person · Chryston

Pamela, Group Facilitator Venue – Chryston Parish Church Meets weekly, every Saturday, 12:30pm – 2:30pm Group facilitator: Pamela Everyone welcome! What inspired you to start your group? I was inspired to start this group after seeing how many parents struggle with perinatal mental health concerns in silence, often feeling they have nowhere they truly belong. I understand the importance of having a space where people have shared experiences, as this helps people us not feel alone and that all feelings are valid. Traditional groups can feel isolating when you can’t relate to others so I want to create an environment that creates connection and somewhere people feel they can be honest about their struggles and know that they will be shown empathy and non-judgemental support to work through them. What does the building look like? How will I know I’m in the right place? The building where the group will be held in an add on to a lovely church. They have built these additional rooms to be used as a hub for many community groups. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. The church name is clearly marked on the outside of the building. Is there parking or public transport nearby? There is car parking on the grounds of the church and there is also a bus stop nearby Any doors, buttons, or steps I should know about? Entry is via large glass doors in the extension part of the church. There is level access via these doors. I’m feeling a bit nervous and am still not sure if this is for me – We understand this feeling, it is common to feel nervous about going new places, but our goal is to make people feel comfortable and that we are accessible for everyone. If you feel you would benefit from a chat with the group leader beforehand then please send an email with your contact number to lanarkshirepandas@outlook.com and Pamela will give you a call to discuss any concerns and we will work out a way to make come along to the group feel easier for you.

PANDAS Colchester

In-person · Colchester

Venue New location from 15th July! Meets the second Wednesday of every month, 9am-10am What inspired you to start your group? Having had my own experience with perinatal mental health, I want to be able to use that to help others, and who just need somewhere to come and talk without judgement or stigma. What does the building look like? How will I know I’m in the right place? It is clearly marked, and has large, glass double doors at the entrance. Is there parking or public transport near by? The nearest car parks are Vineyard Street (approx. 200m away), Osborne Street, and the High Street car park. You can also reach it via any bus which goes to the High Street. Any doors, buzzers or steps/ramps I should know about? The doors are automatic and the entrance is completely accessible. I feel a bit nervous and am still not sure if this is for me – Give it a go; there’s no obligation to stay if you change your mind! I know how hard it can be getting yourself and a little one out the door so it’s a huge step just to get that far! Any other information – There is a free baby & toddler rhyme time group in the space straight afterwards, which you are welcome to stay for.

After having both my daughters many years ago I suffered badly with postnatal depression and I didn’t think I should bother my GP & health visitor so I suffered in silence. What does the building look like, and how will I know I am in the right place? Tesco is the very large store just off the roundabout with easy access on foot or car . There will be someone to greet you at the door. Is there parking or public transport nearby? Parking is plentiful and the bus stops actually outside. Any doors, buttons, or steps/ramps I should know about? The entrance is fully accessible to pushchairs, prams, wheelchairs and other equipment I feel a bit nervous and not sure if this is for me – The biggest steps are always the first ones! You will be in a safe space , no pressure to talk just come along , have a cuppa and biscuit maybe even cake and take it one step at a time. Is there anything else I need to know? You will always be greeted with a smile. Mums, dads, grandparents and children are all welcome. Make that first step for YOU XX
