Bournemouth Walk

In-person · Bournemouth

Hi. My name is Tom and I’m the Bournemouth walk leader. I’ve lived in various places in the south of England, but the coast, heaths and forests of Dorset is where I really feel rooted. I work in Nature Conservation and the outdoors is incredibly important to me for a whole variety of reasons. I managed to return 'home' 5 years ago following a 12 or so years in London after starting and raising a young family with my wife Freya. I’ve suffered from poor mental health for a couple of years, since what I would describe as 'a bit of a breakdown' in 2022. Since then, the more I learn to understand my own issues, the more I realise that many men are in a similar position, often suffering in silence not having the confidence to reach out and simply talk to someone. There still isn't much help or support out there for men, despite an improving picture - MWAT can help. I came across Men Walk ing and Talking on social media and was immediately struck by how many of my boxes it ticked, such as good idea and so simple. After some research and discussions with MWAT I decided to start a Bournemouth Group and look forward very much to meeting you and talking as we walk .

Bournville Walk

In-person · Birmingham

Hi, my name's Matt and I’m proud to be the Bournville Walk Leader. I'm walking because men's mental health matters — more than we often admit out loud. For too long, many of us have been taught to stay silent, to "tough it out," or to carry our struggles alone. But silence doesn't make the weight any lighter. I'm walking to challenge that silence. This walk represents a commitment to honesty, vulnerability, and connection. It's a reminder that asking for help is not a weakness — it's courage. I want other men to know that it's okay to open up, to struggle, and to heal at their own pace. No one should feel they have to fight their battles alone. We walk together to remind every man: you're not alone. One step for strength, one step for support, one step for hope!

Bridgnorth Walk

In-person · Bridgnorth

Hi, my name is Danny. I currently live in Kidderminster, but I’m originally from Bridgnorth. After joining my local Men Walking and Talking group, I noticed a real interest online for a similar group in Bridgnorth, so I’ve decided to help bring it back. 💚 Why This Matters Men’s mental health is very important to me. Like many men, I spent years keeping things to myself, thinking I just had to get on with it. Over time I realised how much better life feels when you have people to talk to. Joining my local Men Walking and Talking group genuinely changed things for me. The simple act of walking, chatting and being around good people helped me find confidence, calm and a sense of connection that I didn’t realise I was missing. I want to bring that same supportive space to the Bridgnorth community, a place where men can turn up exactly as they are and feel welcome. No expectations, no pressure, just community. 🎧 A Little About Me I grew up in Bridgnorth and now live in Kidderminster, but my roots and my heart are still very much here. 🚜 I work as a forklift driver, which keeps me busy but also reminds me to appreciate the simple things in life 🎵 I am a musician who enjoys playing, listening and discovering new music 📸 I enjoy photography and capturing small moments that others might walk past 🌿 I feel most at peace outdoors, whether that is walking through town or spending time in nature 🗣 Most importantly, I enjoy connecting with people. Everyone has a story, and I love listening 📍 JOIN US – YOU ARE WELCOME HERE 💬 Walk. Talk. Connect. No pressure. No judgement. No need to pretend everything is fine. Just fresh air, real conversation and support for men’s mental wellbeing from people who understand.
