Bournemouth Walk

Hi. My name is Tom and I’m the Bournemouth walk leader. I’ve lived in various places in the south of England, but the coast, heaths and forests of Dorset is where I really feel rooted. I work in Nature Conservation and the outdoors is incredibly important to me for a whole variety of reasons. I managed to return 'home' 5 years ago following a 12 or so years in London after starting and raising a young family with my wife Freya. I’ve suffered from poor mental health for a couple of years, since what I would describe as 'a bit of a breakdown' in 2022. Since then, the more I learn to understand my own issues, the more I realise that many men are in a similar position, often suffering in silence not having the confidence to reach out and simply talk to someone. There still isn't much help or support out there for men, despite an improving picture - MWAT can help. I came across Men Walk ing and Talking on social media and was immediately struck by how many of my boxes it ticked, such as good idea and so simple. After some research and discussions with MWAT I decided to start a Bournemouth Group and look forward very much to meeting you and talking as we walk .
