Bristol Walk

In-person · Bristol

NEW START POINT FOR WALK EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY Hi, my name is Will and I am the walk leader MWAT Bristol. Over the last few years, I've become a big advocate for menswork and the power of connecting and sharing with other men. As Bristol is a relatively new home for me, I've noticed my feelings of isolation and loneliness increasing as I struggle to make connections and build a community. I'm pretty confident that there are plenty of other men that feel the same. In my spare time I'm a Mountain Leader and love being outdoors and going on adventures, so when MWAT appeared on my social media feed, I thought it was a great opportunity to bring together my love of the outdoors, my desire for community, and the power of connection into one accessible activity. Vulnerability and sharing how we truly feel can be scary, but it doesn't have to be difficult - heading out for a walk is a great start. I'm looking forward to meeting you. Walk: Address: Conham River Park Carpark, BS15 3AW Meeting time: Wednesday 6.30pm - 7.30pm

Bromley PANDAS

In-person · Coney Hall

Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month 7pm – 8.30pm Group Facilitator: Ellie The entrance Our space Ellie What inspired you to start your group? – I wanted to create the group that I needed when I was a new mum and finding things hard. I joined the PANDAS online support group and found it helpful, so when I saw the PANDAS Foundation was looking for new group facilitators (and luckily felt in a good enough place to do it), I got involved straight away W hat does the building look like, and how will I know I’m in the right place? – SJ’s is on a row of shops on the main road (Croydon Road). It’s in between the El Kervan kebab restaurant and the Ultimate Muay Thai gym. You’ll be able to see a banner for Bromley PANDAS in the window of SJ’s. Is there parking or public transport nearby? – On-street parking is in front of SJ’s – free from 7 pm (free but max. 1 hour before 7 pm). Coney Hall Car Park (off Kingsway, behind SJ’s) – free after 6:30 pm. It can be a bit dark in the winter, but it’s a good option in the summer. Any doors, buttons, or steps I should know about? Access via the street through the front door—no steps and accessible with a pushchair. Where can buggies be left? Are there toilets/changing facilities? – Buggies can be left inside. There is 1 accessible toilet with baby-changing facilities. What’s the atmosphere like when I walk in, and what should I do when they walk in? – When you walk in, you’ll hear chilled music, smell a calming room spray, and the lighting will be low. You’ll be welcomed by Ellie, who will make you a drink and invite you to sit down in a comfy chair. Once everyone has arrived and has a drink, we’ll make a start. Anything special about the group? – There’s no such thing as late at Bromley PANDAS (Ellie knows first hand how long it can take to leave the house!), but if possible, we like to start the session together as a group shortly after 7 pm, babies under 12 months are welcome
