Cheltenham Walk

In-person · Cheltenham

NEW WALK STARTING WEDNESDAY 11th MARCH 2026 We are Ian & Terry and we are the co-leads for the Cheltenham Men Walking & Talking Group. Our interest in men’s wellbeing comes from lived experience rather than theory. Mental health and emotional struggle have been part of our personal and professional journeys in different ways, and we’ve both seen how easily men can end up carrying heavy things quietly. Through family experiences, work, business, and life more broadly, we’ve learned that many men don’t lack strength, they lack space. Space to slow down, to be heard, or simply to be alongside others without pressure to explain or perform. Life can look fine on the outside while feeling very different on the inside. We don’t believe men need fixing or ready-made answers. We believe that some of the most important conversations happen side-by-side, outdoors, at walking pace. Sometimes talking helps. Sometimes listening helps. Sometimes just turning up is enough. Together, we co-host the Cheltenham Men Walking and Talking group. Our aim is simple: to create relaxed, welcoming walks where men can show up as they are, connect with others, and not feel they have to carry things alone.

Chester Walk

In-person · Chester

Hi my name is Mike and I’m the Chester walk leader. I have been taking part in the Chester walks since the spring of 2022. It came about after my children left for university and my wife and I decided we would divorce. Overnight my world turned upside down and left me needing to rebuild. The Chester walks provide an opportunity to meet up with others and stay connected. They also provide an opportunity for mutual support where there is no judgement and a chance to be yourself. I was welcomed into the group by Mark the previous leader and I aim to offer the same warm and supportive welcome to anyone who would like to come along.

Chippenham Walk

In-person · Chippenham

My name is Keith, I'm 53 and Chippenham born and bred. There is nothing like MWAT in my area at the moment and I think it would be beneficial for the local community as mens mental health and wellbeing is seldom spoken about, although things are improving. I love walking too, it's the most underrated exercise out there with so many benefits and combining the 'walking and talking' together is a win/win combination for both physical and mental health. We can also put the world to rights at the same time! I look forward to getting out of my comfort zone, getting out there and putting one foot in front of the other!'

Cleobury Mortimer

In-person · Cleobury Mortimer

Hi, I am Dominic, the group leader of Cleobury Mortimer MWAT, a supportive community group dedicated to encouraging open conversations and physical activity among men. My journey with MWAT began when I saw a flyer at a local service station. Having navigated a challenging period in my life just a few months prior, the group's mission deeply resonated with me, inspiring me to get involved. With 18 years of experience in education, I have always been committed to fostering personal growth and development. Recently, I furthered my dedication to helping others by qualifying as an internationally accredited confidence life coach. This new role has allowed me to blend my passion for mental health with my love for engaging in meaningful conversations. Listening to people's stories and asking insightful questions is something I truly enjoy, making my role at Cleobury MWAT a perfect fit. I am particularly passionate about mental health and believe in the importance of encouraging men to speak openly about their experiences and challenges. If you're looking for a supportive space to walk and talk, I warmly invite you to join us. Whether you need a listening ear or simply want to connect with others, you're more than welcome at Cleobury Mortimer MWAT.

Coleshill Walk

In-person · North Warwickshire

Hi, I'm James. I've lived in Coleshill for 9 years with my wife Claire and pet cat Simba, but I previously lived in Sutton Coldfield. I work for the Gambling Commission as a Senior Manager on the National Lottery team and I am a Chair of Governors at a local primary school. My hobbies include travelling, eating out, watching sports, playing board games and video games and watching films. I also enjoy quizzes and have appeared on 2 x BBC TV quiz shows. I have setup a Men Walking And Talking group as I want to meet more local people and get some regular light exercise. I also have some physical health issues which have affected my quality of life and have been challenging mentally.

Coulsdon Walk

In-person · Greater London

My Croydon‑born wife lured me to South London with the promise of her mum’s excellent cooking. But what actually won me over were Croydon’s green spaces and its surprisingly beautiful edges that spill into the Surrey Hills. Becoming a father has been an incredible new chapter for our family, but it also tested my mental resilience in ways I didn’t expect. For the first time in my life, I found myself struggling with anxiety. With my wife’s support, I carved out one quiet ritual: a weekly walk in nature. Those walks brought me a sense of peace and helped me build a deeper relationship with the land around me. Talking to friends also helped, and saying the worries out loud made them feel just a little lighter. I hope our walks can offer the same sense of relief and connection to men from all walks of life, helping us breathe a little deeper, feel a little stronger, and carry our loads with a little more ease.

Coventry Walk

In-person · Coventry

Hi, I’m James, the walk leader for MWAT Coventry. A walking group for men looking for a safe, relaxed space to support each other mentally and physically. I first joined MWAT in 2024 and quickly realised how important it is. There’s a lot of pressure on men to “toughen up” and hide how they’re really feeling, which can make it hard to open up. Walking together makes it easier shoulder to shoulder, not face to face with no pressure, no judgment, just fresh air and good company. Come walk, talk, laugh, and connect, dogs are very welcome too! Whether you’re looking for a mental reset, some company, or just a way to get moving, you’ll find a friendly, like-minded group here. Our goal is simple: break the stigma, build connections, and remind men they’re never alone. Follow us to join a walk or find out more, every step counts, for your body and your mind!
