NEW START POINT FOR WALK EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY Hi, my name is Will and I am the walk leader MWAT Bristol. Over the last few years, I've become a big advocate for menswork and the power of connecting and sharing with other men. As Bristol is a relatively new home for me, I've noticed my feelings of isolation and loneliness increasing as I struggle to make connections and build a community. I'm pretty confident that there are plenty of other men that feel the same. In my spare time I'm a Mountain Leader and love being outdoors and going on adventures, so when MWAT appeared on my social media feed, I thought it was a great opportunity to bring together my love of the outdoors, my desire for community, and the power of connection into one accessible activity. Vulnerability and sharing how we truly feel can be scary, but it doesn't have to be difficult - heading out for a walk is a great start. I'm looking forward to meeting you. Walk: Address: Conham River Park Carpark, BS15 3AW Meeting time: Wednesday 6.30pm - 7.30pm
My name is Daran and I live just outside of Reading, Berkshire and I am the Walk Leader for this group. Throughout my life I’ve often wondered why I’m different from other people. Sometimes it’s been easy to work out and sometimes (and even now..) I haven’t managed to work it out fully. I am working progress too – and that is OK. As with many others, it’s taken me years to understand AND appreciate that it’s not me that’s been different, the black sheep, the weirdo or the odd one out. All the years that seem wasted by not knowing that just makes it better now when I (and you could too) realise that I am MY normal, I AM the person I should be, I am NOT defined by what others think or by how I think. As a man, talking openly is something that holds the stigma that men should be tough, never be emotional, not to show vulnerability and many men still hold this in. Not only is this a Victorian way to think, it simply isn't helpful for a healing journey - Whatever stage you are at. Whether you want to chat, vent, stay silent or put the world to rights, having a safe space to express that is why men need to talk more.
My name is Luke and I'm really pleased to be the Walk Leader for Bury St Edmonds, I suffer with my mental health, and I want to do this so that men can have a safe place to be free and to talk if they need to. I want to help others, and I believe this will also help me on my own journey.
Hi, my name Phil and I am the Walk Leader for Cambridge MWAT I'm passionate about making a difference in men's mental health having lost two male family members to suicide.
Hi, my name is Adam I am 53 years old and a father to a grown up Daughter, Son and a Grandson also. I have been clean and sober for 10 years. Diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2024 and currently under active surveillance. I don’t believe men have an opportunity to share, maybe don’t know how. I am creating this group to give guys that opportunity. To talk through men’s issues with mental health, physical health or just enjoy a walk with likeminded men. I believe my own experiences will enable me to successfully facilitate the group.

Next session: SaturdayHi, I'm Callum, Walk Leader for Carluke. As someone who struggles with addiction and mental health, I want to encourage more men to speak openly about their struggles in life without feeling the need to isolate and deal with it on their own.
Hi, my name is Scott and I am the walk leader for Chelmsford. Following my own struggles with mental health and finding solace in nature, hiking and talking with friends, I decided I wanted to get involved with helping more men find their peace and support through getting outside and being part of a community that is open, friendly and most importantly confidential.
